Dr. Marianne Connally (Mahala)
Mahala is a Licensed Unity Teacher who received her License
in 1997 from Unity School of Christian Studies. She has a
degree in Psychology from the University of Alaska (1986)
and is a member of the American Holistic Health Association.
She received a doctorate in psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) in
1997 from the American Pacific University in the field of
Clinical Hypnotherapy and has also studied at the University
of Maryland in the field of Human Development.

Her work with Dr. Angeles
Arrien (1998-current) has given her the foundation for
the circular model she now embraces for her work with
Unity By-The-Bay and provides her with on-going studies
in the field of conflict resolution and peace making.
Mahala grew up in Tanzania, East Africa, where her
father was a missionary for 12 years of her life- and
she speaks Swahili. Her love for the wisdom and cultures
of the indigenous people attracted her to Unity as it
provided her with an opportunity to blend her Christian
background with the multi-cultural influences of her
childhood. |
She is also part- Sioux Indian (maternal lineage)
and is the proprietor of an Native Indian contracting company.
Her parents were born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas where
she lived between African tours. She also lived in Alaska
for four years during the early 80's and has been living in
Maryland since 1986.
Her work with Unity By-The-Bay began as a
guest speaker in 1997. She has continued to support, teach
and speak at a variety of Unity centers in the past few years
and was recently hired by Unity By-The-Bay to fulfill the
role of Spiritual Leader.
Mahala is a mother, wife, teacher, counselor,
and writer. She lives with her husband Bill Finagin, and daughter
Kali, in Welcome, Maryland. She was previously affiliated
with Unity Center of Light in Bowie, Maryland and is being
sponsored by Rev. Dee Swinney of Unity in Alexandria, Virginia,
where she has been a Licensed teacher for the past four years.
